Highlights are saved Stories that live on your profile permanently, above your feed grid. They're an underrated branding surface — the row of circular covers right under your bio is one of the first things visitors see. A consistent visual style across covers makes a profile look intentional and on-brand.
Even though you upload a 9:16 (1080×1920) image, Instagram shows it as a circle at ~78×78px in the profile view. The crop is centered, so any icon you place should be in the dead center of the canvas. This tool does that automatically — the icon is rendered centered with appropriate sizing so it fits inside the circular crop.
