The double-crop problem

Your Reels cover gets used in two places, with two different aspect ratios:

• Reels feed (9:16, the full 1080×1920) — what viewers see when they tap into the reel
• Profile grid (1:1, center-cropped) — what people browsing your grid see at a glance

The red box shows the middle 1080×1080 strip — the only area guaranteed to show on your grid.

Composition tips

• Subject in the center band — face, product, or text should sit roughly between the top 25% and bottom 25%
• Don't put text at the very top or bottom — UI elements (Reels icon, username, caption) overlay there
• Brand color band — a recurring color stripe across all your reel covers creates visual consistency on the grid
